3 Independence Day Outfit Formulas
Independence day is a day we celebrate FREEDOM and our glorious country. It's also a holiday weekend full of activities, gatherings, beach days, picnics, and barbeques. The temperature is typically extremely hot and the sun is shining down. It's also a great opportunity to show off your personal style.
Go ahead and look through your wardrobe for every red, white, and blue garment and accessory you own to create your perfect looks for the weekend. Because you may very well need more than one. It's a three-day weekend! More days, more scenarios, more outfits. I've got you covered with three independence day outfit formulas. Straight, simple, and to the point- you probably have something that will work in your closet already.
White is the chicest color to wear in the summer. Our skin is tan and white is clean, crisp, and bright. Red and blue are primary strong colors- so choose one (or both) to accent and liven up your look.
Outfit Formula #1: MAXI DRESS + FLATFORMS
Slip on a maxi dress in the evenings or on cooler days. Whether you are going out to eat or hostessing a dinner party, a lightweight maxi dress paired with unlimited accessories makes an easy outfit formula. Put on a pair of flatforms and you're ready to take on anything and look good doing it. A cute summer-style pair of wedges or flatforms can instantly escalate a summer look.
Outfit Formula #2: JEAN SHORTS + EASY TANK
This classic casual summer outfit formula can take you anywhere. Jean shorts are a blank canvas for an easy tank then spruce it up with unlimited accessories. Plus, jean shorts are blue- so there you have it, you're already halfway there dressing in the holiday color scheme. White jean shorts are super chic and can elevate the casual fit. Sleeveless tops save the day in the summer. They keep you cool and keep the sweat at bay. A fit tank or an easy flowy sleeveless top works in this outfit formula.
Outfit Formula #3: COVERUP + SUNNIES + HAT
You can't be more chic than wearing a luxe coverup to the beach or pool. Check out my previous blog post for my favorite resort wear designers. You can read it here. If you are going to invest in a coverup, consider a white one. Here are a few more casual budget-friendly options.
Don't forget your sun protection essentials! In my opinion, the face and neck are the most important body parts to protect from the sun. Show off your style and protect your skin with a chic floppy hat and sunglasses. Make sure your go-to sunglasses for the summer has UV protection. Most quality pairs do, but it’s worth it to double-check, your eyes will thank you later. Get a nice, stylish hat that you can wear all summer to keep your eyes, ears, scalp, face, and neck out of the sun.
