Cibu How To: Vintage Pin Curls

I'm bringing vintage back! Here's a super sweet, super simple pin curl technique perfect for setting and keeping curls in fine hair

Here's what you need:

1" Curling Iron : I love the Babylis 1" Pro Curling Iron that I used in this video
Flat curl setting clips (super cheap)
Bobby pins
Cibu Finista Finishing Spray or similiar workable hair spray

The process:

Step 1: Work a golf ball size serving of Cibu Shang High Mousse or similar into damp hair (in addition to adding volume, mousse is excellent for curl setting)

Step 2: Flash dry hair 100%. No need for a brush, just get all the moisture out

Step 3: Prep 1" section with Cibu Finista Flexible Finishing Spray (or similar) before curling with iron. Hold iron for 15 - 30 seconds. Release

Step 4: Use fingers to wind curl into a circular pattern at scalp. Secure curl with setting clip

Step 5: Repeat all over head. Spray head with a generous coat of Cibu Finista. Let curls sit for :30 - or longer. This technique is great for an overnight curl set

Step 6: Remove clips* and style as desired. Some ideas:

For a vintage look, use bobby pins to secure face framing curls
For soft waves and volume brush out curls with a paddle or soft bristle brush
*For a finger wave look, replace curl clips with bobby pins
