No-makeup makeup look & All time beauty faves
Is it just me or does putting on a full face of makeup seem like a lot of time, a lot of energy, and a lot of product these days? You know I'm all for a glam makeup look for special occasions- but for everyday wear, I'm here for the no-makeup makeup look.
Our bare faces hold the most natural beauty and radiance, covering it up too much masks that. I've found empowering confidence wearing less makeup most days. I feel more ME, and I look more me too.
I wore less makeup in 2020 than I ever have. I didn't see the need to most days. My skin definitely benefited from the freedom. It could finally BREATHE after years of covering it up. But I do love the ritual of putting on my makeup and the feeling of confidence I exude when I feel fresh, vibrant, and chic. Then I nailed down my perfect no-makeup makeup look and haven't looked back since.
Disclaimer ** I do have days when I rush to the bathroom to paint my face on 10 minutes before a zoom call. Anybody else?
Simplifying life, we must simplify our daily routines. Makeup included. Less makeup = fewer problems. But we still want to look nice and presentable, for our daily and virtual lives, but most importantly to show up for ourselves. The no-makeup makeup look is an effortless look that is natural yet polished and perfect for everyday wear. The no-makeup makeup look is no secret. French women have been rocking it for decades. It's in for the long haul in my book.
In complete transparency, I just began working with the Reward Style affiliate program, which works with influencers and content creators to promote products. A lot of the products on RewardStyle are fast fashion, and we don't want you to go out and buy all the things you may not need. I vow to only share the products I use and love. If you're like me, makeup is something I use daily. So I thought I'd start with sharing my beauty routine. These products are truly what I have been using for years upon years upon years.
Over the past years, I've shared how to minimize your wardrobe with capsules, how to style a full season of looks from 40 garments, how to define and refine your personal style, my top clothing and accessory favorites, and more. Here I am sharing my simple no-makeup makeup beauty routine with products I've been using for YEARS.
Step 1 The BASE
IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream Illumination with SPF 50+ , blend with Original Beauty Blender Sponge
Use this as a makeup base with SPF. Apply it first with the beauty blender. I've been using this product for over 5 years. It's buildable, light, and protects your skin from the sun.
OPTIONAL if you want more coverage layer NARS Sheer Glow Foundation on top
Step 2 conceal
Concealer NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer using It Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection Brush
Apply this under the eyes or as a highlighter. This makes you look alive, bright and finished. It should be a lighter shade than your foundation.
Step 3 brows, baby
I have been using this product for years. It’s effortless and the perfect shade. Not too light, not too heavy, just right.
Step 4 Finishing powder
This step sets and finishes the face. Swirl and tap, swirl and tap
Step 5 contour & color
NARS Blush/Bronzer Duo Orgasm/ Laguna using Laura Mercier Angled Cheek Contour Brush
This is the perfect 2 in one contour palette. It’s light, buildable. Add depth with bronzer to contour, and the blush gives color to those cheeks and brightens up face.
Step 6 lashes
Right now I'm using this, it's not my favorite but perfect for now as my eyelashes recover from eyelash extensions.
Lastly, add your favorite lip! Reminder to get rid of any liquid makeup for the past few years- they do expire people. And try to find makeup WITH SPF in it.
